UV Radiation

Sunlight contains radiation in the form of mild UV rays. Just like too much tanning can result in blisters and sun burns, similarly car paint gets deteriorated under prolonged exposure to UV rays in sunlight, resulting in oxidation, accelerated color fading, clear coat damage, and potential cracking and peeling.

Extreme heat

The scorching heat of summer intensifies the harmful impact of UV rays from the sun, potentially causing paint to crack. Ceramic coating forms a bonding layer with the paint, acting as a temperature-neutralizing barrier that lowers surface temperatures.

Frost

The thin layer of ice that accumulates on your vehicle's surface provides an opportunity for dirt and other particles to adhere to your car. Removing frost often results in scratches that are hard to avoid. However, our ceramic coating treatment effectively fills the paint pores, creating a seamless protective layer. This not only repels water but also makes it challenging for ice to bond with your paint.

Acid Rain

Rain collects pollutants, dust, dirt and other contaminants. Acidic residues left on the car's surface after water evaporates can lead to damage. When combined with elements like sunlight, this acidic compound can corrode the paint, resulting in irregularly shaped, permanently etched areas. Although a ceramic coating cannot entirely prevent water spots, especially if the vehicle is not washed regularly and left parked outside, it does provide an additional layer of protection against etching. Additionally, its hydrophobic properties make washing off contaminants easier.

Fallout

Airborne particles adhere to your vehicle's surface, often containing high levels of iron that rust rapidly, resulting in unsightly orange/brown spots on your paint.

Bird droppings pose significant risk to your vehicle's paint, as they harden upon drying, making removal challenging. They have the potential to etch the clear coat, leaving permanent marks. Additionally, they may contain acids and chemicals that corrode the surface of your car.

Road salts/debris

If left unchecked, this residue, particularly from salt or de-icing agents, can result in surface etching or corrosion on the paint if not promptly removed. Additionally, it can lead to oxidation on metal surfaces, accelerating the formation of rust spots. Without proper treatment, these rust spots can quickly spread and worsen over time.

COATING APPLICATION

PREPARATION

1. Start by thoroughly washing and drying your vehicle to remove any dirt, grime, or residues. Ensure the surface is completely clean before proceeding. It's recommended to use a clay bar for extracting persistent contaminants.

2. Inspect the surface of your vehicle for any imperfections such as swirl marks, scratches, or water spots. If necessary, correct these imperfections before applying the ceramic coating.

3. Use masking tape to protect areas that you don't want the ceramic coating to be applied to, such as rubber trim, plastics, or glass.

APPLICATION

4. Lightly mist the area to be applied with water. Apply a small amount of ceramic coating onto an applicator pad or sponge. Work in small sections, applying the coating in straight lines or overlapping motions. Ensure even coverage and avoid applying too much product.

5. Once the coating has been applied to a section, let it sit for 2-5 minutes until it forms a haze. Then, use a damp cloth to evenly distribute the coating. Immediately after, use a clean, dry microfiber towel to buff it off until the surface is smooth and free of residue. Repeat this procedure for the entire vehicle.

CURING

6. Allow the ceramic coating to cure for a minimum 24hrs, to fully bond with the surface. This involves letting the coating sit untouched as any exposure to environmental elements can compromise the results.

7. After initial curing, avoid washing or exposing the vehicle to water for 72hrs to allow peak performance and durability from the coating. Afterward, maintain by regularly washing your vehicle with a pH-neutral car wash soap and using ceramic coating-compatible detailing products.

ATTENTION

It's crucial not to let the application dry entirely before wiping it off. If ERA PRIME dries, it will harden, requiring paint correction to remove. Ensure all residue is thoroughly buffed off before proceeding to the next panel.
